About Kugluktuk
POPULATION: 1350
TIME ZONE: Mountain
The Inuit of this area are known as the Copper Inuit, a name born of the nearby Copper Mountains. Hunters still spend much time hunting and fishing. By spending so much time on the land, Inuit of Kugluktuk ensure their traditional skills are passed on to younger generations, whether it be sewing fur clothing, hunting wild game, carving soapstone, preparing traditional food, drum dancing, or enjoying good old-time fiddling.
